Anan and Lots of Bears

Anan Observatory turned out to be just as difficult to get into as Glacier Bay. Your form must be submitted three days prior at 8am to have any chance. Even then there are plenty of other suckers doing the same thing and its basically impossible. Without a permit we come anyway and hope for the best.
After sitting around for hours and some unprofitable fishing we were told to come in. They were going to let us into the observatory. A group had failed to show up. What luck! A cry of exuberance erupted as we heard the news over the radio.

Catching salmon is almost too easy if you know where to go.

Sometimes the bears walked right under the deck.

This one had a bad case of tapeworms. Gross. Sorry.

Momma and baby look out from under the deck.

Momma bear keeps a lookout while baby bear finishes off this salmon.

This bear is fishing.

So cute!

We loved it!
The bears were awesome!
