More Playing With Dolphins and Kutze Bay

We left early and our dolphin friends were up to meet us. This time I got a front row seat. It was so cool. They'd come up from the side and cruise in the bow wave, turning to the side to look up at you. Then they'd rocket forward and surface together, like a practiced trick, 50 feet in front of the boat before repeating their antics.

It was tempting to forgo the rest of the trip and call this place home.

We stopped for breakfast at a waterfall on the way out of the inlet, floating while we ate.

We motored through Sheep Passage and up Hiekish Narrows. We debated pushing all the way to Bishop, but we hadn't been making the best time and it already seemed to be a long day. We pulled into Khutze Inlet where a band of good anchoring in 30-40 feet ran across the inlet.
We put down anchor and unleashed the wildcat. We put out two crab pots near the mouth of a small river, debating the most likely places to find dinner. We took the tender up to the head of the inlet and walked around on the mudflats, surrounded by cascading waterfalls that seemed to start at the very tops of the mountains and twist and fall all the way down to the sea.

We did catch one crab for dinner; a big softy, but he was tasty.
